Traditionally, "Mutung" (木棠) has been understood as a concept relating to natural elements. In reality, Mutung represents a vision for specific environments. Architecture is the art and science of turning fiction into reality - the very tool we use to materialize ideas.
We shape our environment, and in turn, our environment shapes us. When we ask ourselves how we want to live, we are simultaneously asking what kind of people we aspire to become.
In our design process, Mutung Architecture is dedicated to enabling buildings to acquire the ability to adapt to their environment. We need not blend into our surroundings, because we can design our own ecosystems. We don't have to explore nature, for we are already growing within it.
